My advice: If you only use Fantastical to view your calendars and add events, Free is enough. If you schedule a lot with others, Individual costs € 5.84 per month billed yearly (€ 69.99 per year), and Cardhop is included. For a family, Family for up to 5 people is better value: € 99.99 per year.

Introduction1 min
Type "lunch with Sanne Friday at twelve at the café" and Fantastical turns it into an event, with the time, day and location filled in. Typing in plain language is what made the app famous. By now Fantastical is much more than that: a calendar, task list and scheduling tool in one.
A calendar that brings your existing calendars together1 min
Fantastical is made by Flexibits, a company from Huntington in New York State. It isn't a calendar service of its own but an app on top of what you already have. You add your accounts from iCloud, Google, Exchange, Microsoft 365, Fastmail and other CalDAV services. You pull in tasks from iCloud Reminders, Todoist or Google Tasks.
Everything comes together in one view, with day, week, month, quarter and year views. With calendar sets you switch between, say, work and personal. In Premium those sets switch automatically based on time or location.
The app is available for Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro and Windows. There is no Android app. So if you use an Android phone, Fantastical is of little use to you.
Typing events in plain language works in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese. Other languages, such as Dutch, aren't on that list. In those you'll have to fill in fields by hand more often.
Scheduling with others: what Premium is about1 min
The biggest step from free to Premium is scheduling with others. With Openings you create a booking link, where your existing events automatically count as busy. With Proposals you suggest a few times and the others pick what works. With RSVP you let people sign up, with a maximum number of attendees and a deadline. Anyone who gets a link can choose in any browser, even without Fantastical.
Premium also adds smaller things that save time every day. You forward an email to Fantastical and the app pulls out the event. Since version 4.1.19 from September 2026 that also works from an image. You add a Zoom, Google Meet, Teams or Webex call with one click. And with calendar mirroring the app copies events from one calendar to another, so colleagues can see you are busy. In Free that feature looks 2 weeks ahead, in Premium 6 months.
The free plan isn't bare. You get all your calendars, tasks, views, notifications and widgets, and you can type in plain language. But you get 1 calendar set, weather for 3 days and 1 invitee per event. Booking links, time proposals, templates and the Apple Watch aren't included.

A single subscription called Flexibits Premium unlocks Fantastical and Cardhop, the contacts app from the same maker, on all your devices. From the Netherlands, the pricing page shows euros, including VAT.

If you're not sure Premium is worth it, use the trial in a week when you schedule lots of meetings with others. That's exactly where you notice the difference between Free and Premium.
Privacy and AI1 min
According to Flexibits, your calendar and contact data and your login details stay on your device, not on the company's servers. Your account password is stored in Apple's keychain. Flexibits is SOC 2 Type II certified and has a penetration test done every year. European organizations can sign a data processing agreement.
For the features that do run through Flexibits, the servers are at Google Cloud in the United States. Among its subprocessors, Flexibits lists Anthropic and Google for AI services.
Things are moving fast on AI. Since version 4.1.17 from July 2026 the Mac app has a built-in MCP server, so AI apps can use your calendar. Version 4.2 from September 2026 added support for Siri with AI.
Fantastical compared with Google Calendar and Notion Calendar1 min
Google Calendar is free and works in any browser and on Android. Choose Google Calendar if you don't only work on Apple devices or don't want a subscription.
Notion Calendar is also free and works with Google Calendar and Notion. Fantastical is the choice if you live on Apple devices, schedule a lot with others and want to see tasks from Todoist or Reminders in your calendar.

Is Fantastical free?
Yes, there is a free version with all your calendars, tasks and plain-language input. Booking links, time proposals, templates and the Apple Watch are only in Premium.
Does Fantastical work on Android?
No. Fantastical is available for Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro and Windows. Anyone who gets a booking link from you can still pick a time in any browser.
Which languages does plain-language input support?
